Paloma’s Stone

Paloma’s Stone is a project of Sarah Lehat Blumenstein.

For years, family members searched for relatives and clues hinting at the origins of the Blumenstein name. Was it a place? a trade? a thing? One day, while perusing an old book on an abandoned shelf, there it was: Blumenstein - a name original to members of the Cohanic tribe - deriving from the Spanish word for dove. The family charged to bless others with peace took as its mascot the dove, who had offered Noah an olive branch in truce following 40 days of diabolical deluge.

Peace. The idea of Home. Return. Returning to one’s self. Making new again. Whole again. Completing the circle of Life.
